What does full-service planning actually cover?
Planning is the part that happens long before anyone sees a centerpiece. We start from the guest count, the venue's rules, and the budget you are genuinely comfortable with, then build the concept around those instead of around a template. That means a design direction you can actually picture, an itemized quote you can question line by line, a timeline that says who is doing what and when, and one point of contact who answers you. Wedding, corporate evening, or milestone birthday, the goal is the same: nothing left to figure out on the day.
Do you need planning, design, or both?
Some clients want the whole event handled from first concept to final teardown. Others already have the venue and the date and just need the design executed properly on the day. Both are completely fine. Tell us where you are and we scope to it rather than pushing a package with pieces you will not use. If you are comparing quotes from a few planners, ask each one exactly what setup and teardown includes, because that is usually where quotes differ far more than the decor itself.
What Ottawa venue logistics catch people off guard?
Every Ottawa venue has its own rules: the load-in window, what can and cannot be attached to walls or ceilings, and the hard time everything has to be out by. Those constraints shape what is realistic more than budget does. Do you do full wedding planning, or only decor?
Both, and the difference matters when you are comparing quotes. Some couples want the full plan: concept, vendors, timeline, and setup. Others have the venue and date sorted and just need the design executed beautifully on the day. Tell us which you need and we scope the quote to that rather than selling you a package with parts you will never use.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better for peak season, especially summer weekends and the December holiday stretch, when Ottawa venues and vendors book out first. That said, we have turned around smaller celebrations on short notice. If your date is close, ask anyway. We would rather tell you honestly whether we can do it properly than overcommit and under-deliver.
Do you coordinate with my venue and other vendors?
Yes, and it is a core part of planning rather than an add-on. Every venue has its own load-in window, rules about what can be attached to walls, and a hard teardown time. We handle those conversations directly so you are not relaying messages between five different people during the week you should be enjoying.
What is actually included in a quote?
