Concept and design direction
We start from the room and the date rather than a mood board. Ceiling height, wall width, where the light falls and where people have to walk decide what will actually work, and those are answered before a palette is chosen. Send photos of the space and we will tell you what fits and what will not.
An itemized quote, not a package
Every piece is priced on its own line so you can see what each part costs and remove anything you do not want. Packages hide the trade-offs. If the backdrop matters more than the centrepieces, an itemized quote lets you move the money, and that conversation is easier before you book than after.
Vendor and venue coordination
Ottawa venues have rules about what may touch a wall, when a van may unload and how long a teardown has. Those constraints decide the design more often than taste does, so we confirm the loading window and the fastening rules with the venue rather than discovering them on the day. Where other vendors are involved we work to their timings, not around them.
Setup and teardown on the day
We install before guests arrive and come back to clear it. Teardown is the part people forget to ask about and the part that ruins an evening: a venue wanting the room empty by midnight is your problem unless somebody has agreed to be there. It is in the quote, in writing, with a time on it.
What does full-service planning actually cover?
Planning is the part that happens long before anyone sees a centerpiece. We start from the guest count, the venue's rules, and the budget you are genuinely comfortable with, then build the concept around those instead of around a template. That means a design direction you can actually picture, an itemized quote you can question line by line, a timeline that says who is doing what and when, and one point of contact who answers you. Wedding, corporate evening, or milestone birthday, the goal is the same: nothing left to figure out on the day.
Do you need planning, design, or both?
Some clients want the whole event handled from first concept to final teardown. Others already have the venue and the date and just need the design executed properly on the day. Both are completely fine. Tell us where you are and we scope to it rather than pushing a package with pieces you will not use. If you are comparing quotes from a few planners, ask each one exactly what setup and teardown includes, because that is usually where quotes differ far more than the decor itself.
Do you plan parties, or only weddings and corporate events?
Parties run through the same process as anything else here. Birthdays and milestone parties, engagements, baby showers, graduations and anniversaries are all planned the same way: agree the look, price it line by line, handle the venue's load-in and teardown windows, and install everything before anyone arrives. If you are looking for a party planner rather than a full wedding planner, that is the same conversation with the quote scoped down to match. Planner, organiser, decorator: which one do you actually need?
People search for all three and often mean slightly different jobs, so it is worth being plain about which you are buying. A decorator designs and installs the look: the arch, the backdrop, the tables, delivered and set up. An event organiser or party organizer handles the running of the day: the timeline, who arrives when, and the venue's load-in and teardown windows. A full event planner does both, starting from the guest count and the budget before any decor exists. We are booked for all three here, and the quote is scoped to whichever you want rather than bundling the other two into it. What Ottawa venue logistics catch people off guard?

How do you compare to other event planning companies in Ottawa?
The useful question is not who is cheapest, it is what each quote actually contains. That said, we have turned around smaller celebrations on short notice. If your date is close, ask anyway. We would rather tell you honestly whether we can do it properly than overcommit and under-deliver.
Do you coordinate with my venue and other vendors?
Yes, and it is a core part of planning rather than an add-on. Every venue has its own load-in window, rules about what can be attached to walls, and a hard teardown time. What is actually included in a quote?

Booking the decor does not commit you to the coordination, and booking the coordination does not require you to take our decor.
