Sparkle Events builds and rents flower walls and event backdrops from a studio at 99 Ralph Erfle Wy in Nepean, covering Ottawa, Barrhaven, Manotick, Richmond and the surrounding area: floral walls, fluted and draped panels, heart flower arches and oversized paper florals. Every build stands on a free-standing frame, so nothing is fastened to a venue wall, and we deliver, install before guests arrive, and return to collect.

Free-Standing & Installed
Built free-standing, so the venue's rules are never the problem
Ottawa venues are strict about what may touch their walls. The Ottawa Wedding Chapel's own FAQ asks for no tacks, no staples and no tape, with nothing fastened to the wall. Rogers Centre Ottawa, formerly the Shaw Centre, allows only painter's tape, masking tape, fun-tak or mounting tabs, and warns that adhesive removal may be charged. Both read 2026-08-09. Everything we build stands on its own frame, so the decor question never becomes a damage question.

What we actually build, piece by piece
Floral walls
A full floral face on a free-standing frame, colour-matched to your palette before anything is built. Silk wall panels ship as mats, listed at 15 by 24 inches by International Silk Flowers, so an eight by eight foot face is roughly twenty-six of them tied onto a grid. Ordering the run as one batch is what keeps the seams invisible.
Fluted & draped panel backdrops
Curved fluted panels and draped fabric, for setups where a solid floral wall would be too much. These carry a name sign, monogram or Arabic script cut-out, and can curve around a dessert table so the two read as one build.
Heart & floral arches
The red or white heart flower arch is what proposals and engagements ask for, and it is in the rental catalogue below. An arch sits forward of the wall rather than flat against it, which is what gives a photograph depth.
Giant florals & accents
Oversized organza and paper blooms on stems, decorative butterflies at about 3.5 ft by 3 ft, and ground florals banked at the base. These stretch an eight foot centre panel into something that fills a wide room.
How wide does an Ottawa backdrop need to be?
Eight by eight feet is the local default: the size Ottawa Flower Walls quotes on its home page and the starting size Pearl Decor Ottawa lists, both read 2026-08-09. It is right for a photo corner and wrong for a head table, because eight feet frames about four adults shoulder to shoulder. A group of ten, or a twenty foot wall behind the top table, leaves it looking stranded. Send the room width and what the photo is for, and we size to the shot rather than to the catalogue.
A drop-off rental is not a styled backdrop
Most Ottawa flower wall listings are single-item rentals: one wall, delivered, collected. That is a real service and sometimes it is all you need. Ours is a different scope. The backdrop is designed against the dessert table, the signage, the ground florals and the balloon work in one palette, so the corner photographs as a set. If a plain wall dropped off is what you want, say so and we quote exactly that.
Venue access decides more than the design does
The design is the easy part. What changes the build is the load-in: door widths, stairs or an elevator, the hour the room is released, and whether anything may touch a wall. A frame that arrives in sections clears a standard door; a pre-assembled eight foot face does not. Tell us the venue and the access window when you enquire and it is planned around them rather than discovered on the day.

We size it to the room
We propose a width and a build, floral, fluted, draped or arch, and quote it itemized with delivery and setup shown separately.
We install before guests arrive
We build on site inside the venue's load-in window, on free-standing frames, so nothing is fastened to the venue.
We come back and clear it
Teardown and removal are agreed up front, so nobody is dismantling a flower wall at midnight.

What does a flower wall or backdrop rental in Ottawa cost?
We quote per event rather than publishing a flat rate, because two things move the number: width and build. A single free-standing floral face is one price; the same wall with a fluted panel, ground florals, a printed name sign and a matching dessert table is another. Delivery, setup and teardown are quoted on their own line so the labour is visible rather than buried.
My venue does not allow anything on the walls. Can you still install?
Yes, and that is the normal case rather than the exception. Are the flowers real or artificial?
The walls and arches are built from high quality artificial blooms, which is what makes them rentable, colour-consistent, and able to sit under event lighting all day without wilting. If you want fresh stems worked in at the base or along an arch, ask when you enquire and we will tell you what is achievable for your date.
Can a flower wall go outdoors?
It can, with a plan. A flower wall is a solid face on a frame, which outdoors makes it a sail, so wind is the real constraint rather than rain. Outdoor backdrops get weighted, staked where the ground allows it, and scheduled around the forecast and the time of day. If the setup you have in mind is a bad idea in an open field in late October, we would rather say so than take the booking and hope.
How far ahead should I book a backdrop?
As early as you can manage for peak dates. Statement pieces like the heart flower arch are one of a kind in our inventory, so once one is held for a date it is genuinely gone, and colour-matched panels sometimes have to be ordered in rather than pulled off a shelf. Summer weekends, the December stretch and graduation season fill first. If your date is close, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly what is achievable.
