What it actually looks like in a room
It reads as a white silhouette rather than a solid shape, because the wings are cut through with open detail that lets the wall colour behind show. At floor level it behaves like a small sculpture, which is why it is usually placed in pairs, one either side of an entrance, a cake table, or the foot of a backdrop. The catalogue photo shows two of them standing together at different sizes, and that pairing is how most people book it.
Where it works and where it does not
Indoors on a level floor is what it is built for. It is a tall flat panel on a shallow base, so a gust catches it like a sail: an open lawn, a dock, or an unsheltered terrace is the wrong home for it, and we will say so rather than set it up somewhere it will spend the evening being caught. On carpet it wants a firm patch rather than deep pile.
If you wanted a lit version instead
This one is not illuminated. There is a separate LED butterfly in the rental inventory, listed on the rentals page rather than here, and it is a different piece with different needs, including an outlet. If you are choosing between them, tell us the room and whether it will be lit low for dancing, and we will tell you which of the two actually shows up in that light.
