Celebrations We Style

For the send-offs and milestones between Decembers.

Sparkle Events decorate retirement parties, staff appreciation events and company milestones across Ottawa from a studio in Nepean: a photo backdrop, light-up marquee numbers for the years of service, balloon garlands in company or personal colours, and a styled cake and dessert table. We set up in your office over a lunch hour or after work, or at a restaurant or hall, and take everything down before the room is needed again. December parties have their own page; this one covers the rest of the year.

Retirements, years-of-service milestones, staff appreciation days, team wins and company anniversaries. Smaller than a gala, and usually organised by a colleague who already has a full job.

Retirement Party Decorations Ottawa

What we build for a send-off or a milestone

The photo backdrop

Everyone at a retirement party wants a photograph with the person retiring, usually more than one. A backdrop gives that queue a proper spot instead of a whiteboard and a fire door. A sequin wall with a balloon garland over it goes up quickly in a meeting room, and the name or the years can sit on printed signage in front.

Numbers for the years

Light-up marquee numbers suit service milestones best: 25 years, 30 years, a company's 50th. They stand four feet tall, rent at $80 per number, and need a power outlet within reach, which in an office usually decides where they go.

Balloon work in the right colours

The palette says whose party it is: the company's colours for an anniversary, the retiree's favourites for a send-off. A garland over the backdrop, or a column either side of the door, is enough for most boardrooms. We build to the colour references you send rather than a stock mix.

The cake table

There is nearly always a cake, and it usually ends up on a folding table in the kitchen. A styled dessert table gives the cutting and the speech somewhere to happen. A three-tier display table rents at $130 and a gold sweet cart at $130, and either can be booked on its own.

Should you buy retirement party decorations or have them installed?

Search for retirement party decorations and you mostly get banners and balloon kits from national retailers, and for a small send-off in a break room a kit is the sensible buy. It costs far less. An installed setup earns its price when the party is in a restaurant, a hall or a large meeting room, when there will be speeches and plenty of photographs, or when the person organising it would otherwise spend their lunch on a stepladder. A useful test is whether anyone will photograph the room itself. If they will, have it built.

A retirement party has two audiences

The colleagues saying goodbye want a room that shows an effort was made. The person retiring often wants something quieter than a birthday, and a party about the work they did rather than a generic Happy Retirement banner. Personal detail carries that: their name and years on the signage, their colours, photographs from their time at the organisation on a side table. Ask them, or whoever knows them best, before the design is settled.

Staff appreciation events and team wins

Appreciation days, a finished project, a strong quarter, a contract won. These are usually held in the office, often during working hours, and the space has to be usable again that afternoon. So the decor goes where people gather, the kitchen, a boardroom or the lobby, and stays clear of walkways and desks. A balloon garland and a dessert table cover most of them. Brand colours are worth using if the photographs will go on a company channel.

Company anniversaries

An anniversary sits between a staff party and a public event, because clients, suppliers and sometimes families are invited. That is where marquee numbers and a branded backdrop earn their place, and where the build starts to look like what our corporate events page covers. If you are also launching something that night, say so early, since a launch changes the scale of the entrance.

Decorating inside a working office

Office buildings set rules on deliveries and on what can be fixed to walls or a ceiling grid, and many ask contractors to sign in with security. We confirm those with your facilities contact before the day and bring freestanding pieces wherever nothing can be attached. For a lunch-hour event, setup finishes before people arrive and takedown starts as soon as the room empties.

Which page covers your event

If you are planning the December party, office Christmas parties has its own page, including the three usable Fridays in December 2026. Product launches, conferences and grand openings are on the corporate events page, and evening fundraisers and awards nights are on the galas page. This page covers the celebrations in between, where the guest list is mostly your own people.

How It Works

From first message to teardown

Send the occasion and the room

Retirement, anniversary or appreciation event, the date, the office or venue, a rough headcount, and any names, years or colours to include.

Direction & itemized quote

Backdrop, numbers, garland and dessert table priced line by line, so it can be matched to a department budget or a staff collection.

We confirm building access

Loading, security sign-in, what can be attached to walls, and the time the room has to be clear, agreed with your facilities contact.

Setup and takedown

Installed before the party and taken down after, including inside a lunch hour when the room is booked again that afternoon.

How much do retirement party decorations cost in Ottawa?

It depends on the pieces, and several can be booked alone at published prices: light-up marquee numbers at $80 per number, a three-tier display table at $130 and a gold sweet cart at $130. A backdrop with a balloon garland is quoted to the room it goes in. Send the date, the venue and roughly how many people, and the quote comes back itemized so it can be matched to whatever budget or collection you have.

Can you decorate a retirement party in our office during the workday?

Yes. For a lunch or mid-afternoon party we set up in the late morning and take everything down once it ends, so the room is usable again. Tell us the building's delivery and sign-in rules and whether anything can go on the walls, and we plan around them.

Do you plan staff appreciation events, or only decorate them?

Either. Most office celebrations only need the decor, because someone in the office is already organising. If you want a planner as well, holding the timeline, the venue and other vendors such as the caterer, that is available and quoted separately.

Can the retiree's name or our company logo go on the decor?

Yes. Names, years of service and logos go on printed signage, which we produce in house with the rest of the setup, so the lettering and colours match the balloons and the backdrop. Send the name spelled exactly as it should appear, and logo files if you have them.

What about our December holiday party?

That has its own page, office Christmas parties, because December runs on a different calendar: companies book through October and November, and the Fridays go first. The decor overlaps with what is on this page; the booking window does not.

Do you cover company parties outside downtown Ottawa?

Yes. We work from Nepean and cover Ottawa, Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Orleans, Gloucester and Gatineau, from Kanata business parks to downtown towers. Send the address and the time the room is free, and we will confirm the setup plan.
