Choose one
The short answer
Giant round balloons floating on helium, each one trailing a long fringed tassel tail that hangs most of the way to the floor. They are used in groups rather than singly: our photographs show five in gold and three in black. Because they float, the constraint is ceiling height and anything hanging from it, not floor space. Diameters and tail lengths are not recorded in our catalogue, so ask and we will confirm.
What we can tell you
- Colours
- Gold with a mirror finish, or black with a gloss finish. Both are photographed. No other colour is recorded in our catalogue
- Form
- One giant round balloon per tail, floating on helium, with a long fringed paper tassel tail hanging beneath it
- Tails
- Fringed tassels strung down a cord. The gold set is photographed with gold and cream tassels, the black set with black, cream and gold
- Quantity
- Grouped. Five in the gold photograph, three in the black. No photograph shows one on its own
- Placement
- Floating above head height, so they read from across a room and clear the tables underneath
- Diameter and drop
- Not recorded in our catalogue. Ask and we will confirm against your ceiling
Grouped is not a suggestion here
One giant balloon on a tail reads as a stray. Three or five together read as an installation, because the eye picks up the repetition and the tails make a set of vertical lines rather than one. That is why both of our photographs show a group and neither shows a single balloon, and it is worth knowing before you ask for one to fill a corner. Odd numbers sit better than even ones, which is the same reason florists work in threes and fives.
Ceiling height is the whole question
These float, so the balloon finds the ceiling and the tassel tail hangs down from wherever that is. In a room with a high ceiling they sit well above everyone and the tails become the thing at eye level. In a low room they crowd the heads underneath and the tails end up in people's drinks. Tell us the ceiling height and whether anything is already hanging in the space, and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right piece or whether the floor-standing mirror orbs suit the room better.
Gold or black is a room decision
The gold has a mirror finish and behaves like the mirror orbs: it reflects the room and shifts with the lighting. The black is a gloss rather than a mirror, so it holds its own shape and reads as a solid dark form against a pale wall or ceiling. Gold suits a warm room and a celebration that wants to look bright. Black suits a monochrome scheme and a room that is already dark, where a gold balloon would disappear into the uplighting. Pick the option above and we will quote that one.
How they arrive and how long they last
They are filled and built on site for your date rather than dropped off, and they are not collected afterwards: this is decor rather than a rental, so it is yours for the day. Helium is the reason the timing matters more here than on a garland. Tell us your start time rather than just the date, and we will schedule the fill so they are at their best when your guests walk in.

Questions people ask about this
- Is this rented or built for my event?
- Built. This is an installation rather than a rental, so it is made for your date in your colours, put up on site, and not collected afterwards: it is yours for the day. That is the practical difference between hiring a piece of furniture and commissioning decor, and it is why the quote covers design and install rather than a return trip.
- Can you match my colours exactly?
- We match to your palette instead of working from a fixed set of shades, and that is most of the difference between decor that looks designed and decor that looks like it came from a party aisle. Speciality shades get ordered in for your date, so colour-matched work needs more notice than people expect. Send a photo or a colour reference with your date.
- How much notice do you need?
- More than a rental needs, because materials get ordered for your specific colours before anything is built. A week or two is comfortable for most designs and peak weekends fill earlier. If your date is soon, ask anyway: we will tell you what is achievable with what is already in stock instead of promising a palette we cannot source in time.
