Wedding Decorators in Ottawa

Celebrations We Style

Weddings designed down to the last candle.

Sparkle Events are wedding decorators based in Nepean, providing wedding decorations and styling across Ottawa, Barrhaven, Manotick, Richmond and the surrounding area: ceremony arches, head-table backdrops, centerpieces and draping, designed as one continuous look rather than separate pieces. We install everything before guests arrive and return for teardown, so the day itself is the only thing you have to manage.

From the ceremony arch to the head table and every setting in between, we design and style weddings that feel unmistakably yours. Layered florals, draping, and warm lighting, handled end to end so the day runs calm.

Wedding styling is one part of the wider event decor Ottawa practice we run, covering everything from engagements to corporate launches.

The Wedding Decor We Build

Ceremony Arches

A styled arch anchors the aisle or altar, built from real florals, draping and greenery matched to your palette instead of a stock arrangement. If you would rather rent the piece on its own, our heart-shaped flower arch is available to book without a full styling package.

Backdrops

Fabric draping, floral walls and framed backdrops give your ceremony, welcome table or photo area a real frame instead of a bare wall, styled with lighting so it holds up in every photo. The same backdrop and floral-wall work is its own service too, for couples who want just the wall and nothing else.

Head-Table Styling

The head table is designed as part of the same look as the ceremony space, not styled on its own: linens, florals, candlelight and a backdrop panel chosen together so the two settings read as one wedding rather than two.

Centerpieces & Tablescapes

Guest-table centerpieces are scaled and colour-matched to your palette, from simple floral clusters to fuller candle-and-floral arrangements, so every table in the room reads as part of one design instead of a repeated stock centerpiece.

Why is a wedding more than one decor job?

A wedding is not one decor job, it is several: the ceremony space, the entrance and welcome table, the head table and its backdrop, and every guest table. We design them so they read as one continuous idea rather than four separate ones that happen to share a colour. Where the venue needs the same room flipped between ceremony and reception, we build that turnaround into the timeline instead of improvising it on the day.

How do you design around your palette and your actual venue?

We start from your colours and the real space, because a design that looks incredible in a bright open hall can disappear in a dark room with low ceilings. Draping, florals, candlelight, and balloon accents all get chosen against that room. If something you have saved on Pinterest will not translate to your venue, we tell you before you pay for it rather than after it is installed.

What drives the cost of wedding decor?

The honest drivers are guest and table count, the scale of the ceremony and head-table installations, how much of the look is florals versus structural decor, whether draping and lighting are involved, and how much setup and teardown time your venue allows. Two weddings with identical budgets can look completely different depending on where the money is concentrated. We quote itemized so you can see exactly where yours sits and move it around before committing.

Who handles setup and teardown on the wedding day?

Everything is installed before guests arrive and collected at the venue's teardown time. Nobody should be carrying centerpieces to a car at midnight on their wedding night, and neither should the people who came to celebrate with you. It is written into the quote rather than left as an assumption.

How far in advance should we book wedding decor?

For peak Ottawa wedding season, meaning summer and early autumn Saturdays, the earlier the better, and many couples book six months to a year ahead. Off-peak dates and smaller weddings have far more flexibility. If your date is already close, still ask. We would rather tell you honestly whether we can do it justice than have you assume it is too late.

Do you handle the ceremony-to-reception flip?

Yes, where your venue requires the same room to be reset between the ceremony and the reception. It genuinely needs to be planned rather than improvised, so we build the turnaround into the day's timeline with the venue. The aim is for guests to be out of the room the shortest time possible and for nothing to look half-finished when they walk back in.

Can you work with our florist and other vendors?

Yes. Plenty of couples already have a florist, photographer, or venue coordinator they love, and we coordinate around them rather than requiring you to use ours. Tell us who is involved and exactly what they are covering, so nothing gets double-booked, double-paid, or missed entirely.

Do you set up and take everything down?

Both are included in the quote. We install everything before guests arrive and return at the venue's teardown time to remove it. You should not be moving centerpieces at the end of your own wedding, and it should not fall to your family either.

What's included in a Sparkle Events wedding decor package?

A full wedding decor build typically covers the ceremony arch and aisle styling, the head-table and its backdrop, centerpieces and tablescapes for every guest table, and draping, florals and lighting that tie the room together. We do not sell it as one fixed bundle, because a small ceremony and a full reception need a completely different scale of each piece. Instead we quote itemized: you see what the arch costs, what the head-table design costs, what centerpieces cost per table, and what draping or lighting adds on top, so you can see exactly where your budget is going and adjust any single piece before committing to anything. If part of your day is already covered, a venue-provided arch or centerpieces from your florist, tell us and we quote around what you actually still need.

Do you build ceremony arches and style the head table, or just smaller pieces?

Both, and for most weddings they are the two biggest decor moments in the room. The ceremony arch is designed for your aisle or altar in florals, draping or greenery matched to your palette, and if you would rather rent an arch on its own without booking full styling, our heart-shaped flower arch is available separately. Head-table styling is designed alongside it rather than as an afterthought: linens, florals, candlelight and a backdrop panel chosen so the ceremony and the reception read as one wedding instead of two unrelated setups that happen to share a colour. Favours, signage and other printed details are part of what we do too, but the arch and the head table are usually where a couple's budget is best spent first, and we will say so honestly if a smaller scope suits your day better.

Where are you based, and which areas do you cover?

We are based in Nepean, so if you are searching for wedding decorators near you anywhere in the south and west of the city we are genuinely local to you: Barrhaven, Manotick, Richmond, Nepean itself, and across Ottawa more widely, along with Kanata, Orleans, Gloucester and Gatineau. Because we install before guests arrive and come back at the venue's teardown time, the venue's location and its access window matter more to us than the distance does. Tell us where your venue is when you enquire and we will say plainly whether the timings work for your date rather than agreeing first and discovering the problem later.

Can we rent just a centerpiece or arch, without booking full wedding decor?

Yes. Some of the pieces we use in wedding decor, including the heart-shaped flower arch, are also listed further down this page and in our shop, so you can rent one piece on its own if you are styling the rest of the day yourself. The same applies to other rental pieces we carry for weddings, like a peacock chair or a sweet cart, which work well as a single accent even when nothing else on the day is styled by us. Full wedding decor makes more sense once several elements need to work as one look together, the arch, the head table, the centerpieces and the draping, because that is where colour-matching and installation timing actually matter most. If you only need one statement piece and already have a plan for everything else, tell us that when you enquire and we will quote the single item honestly rather than push a full package with parts you will not use.
