The short answer
Lit wings on stands: each stand is a slim pole carrying one pair of large translucent wings, with light running through the wing shape so the outline and the veins glow. Our photographs show three stands together in one setup and a cluster of them beside a round arch in another, with florals banked at the base each time. They are powered, so the one question to settle before booking is where the nearest outlet is.

Not the same piece as our white butterflies
We list two butterfly pieces and they do different jobs. The Butterfly entry is a pair of white cut-out panels, unlit, that stand on the floor as a backdrop. These are wings on poles with light inside them, and they are chosen for a room that will be dim: a dinner, an evening reception, a birthday after the lights go down. In a bright room the glow does less of the work and the plain panels may be the better answer.
They are placed in a group, not one at a time
One lit wing on its own reads as a lamp. Three or more, staggered in height and depth with florals along the base, read as a garden, which is how both of our photographs use them. Tell us the width of the space they are going into and we will say how many that width wants rather than sell you a single stand.
Power and cables
Each stand needs power and the cable is visible in our photograph, running along the floor to the base. We route cables behind the florals and away from where guests walk, but we cannot make an outlet appear. Tell us where the wall sockets are relative to where you want the wings and we will plan the run, and say so if the venue has rules about extension leads.
What we cannot tell you from the catalogue
Their height, the span of a wing, the number we hold and whether the light colour can be changed are not recorded here, and we will not estimate them from a picture. Send us the room and the number you have in mind and we will confirm before you book.

- Do you deliver and set this up, or do I collect it?
- We deliver it, set it up before your guests arrive, and come back to collect it afterwards. Nothing in the rental collection is a self-collect item, because most of these pieces need two people and a van, and a statement chair or a dessert table arriving damaged in the back of a car is nobody's idea of a saving. Delivery is quoted with the piece rather than added afterwards.
- How far in advance should I book it?
- Popular weekends go earliest, and single pieces like statement seating and cake tables exist once, not in multiples, so a date is either free or it is not. A week or two is comfortable for most dates and peak Saturdays fill well before that. Ask anyway if your date is soon: we will tell you honestly what is still available rather than holding you while we check.
