Curved Dessert Table

The short answer

Two mirrored crescent sections on gold metal frames, set end to end so the run curves one way and then back the other in a long S. The top is plain white and the frame is open underneath, with a matching gold rail following the same curve down at floor level. It runs along a wall rather than anchoring the middle of a floor, and that is the thing worth settling before you book it.

What a curve does that a straight table does not

A trestle run puts everything in a line and gives you one long queue facing one long edge. This one bends away and back, so guests reach it from several angles at once and the middle of the run is as easy to get at as the ends. It photographs differently too. A straight table reads as furniture placed behind the food, where the curve reads as part of the styling, because the gold draws the same line twice: once along the top and once along the floor.

It wants a wall, and it wants length

The two sections together make a long piece, and the shape only works if it can open out. Pushed into a corner it loses the second curve and becomes an awkward L. Set along a clear wall it does what our photographs show. Our catalogue does not record its length, so tell us the wall you are picturing and the width of the doors it has to come through, and we will confirm both before you commit to a floor plan.

The open frame is a decision, not an oversight

There is no skirt and no boxed base, so whatever sits under the table stays visible. That is the point of the gold: the frame is meant to be seen. It also means the floor beneath has to be presentable, and that spare trays and boxes cannot be parked underneath during the evening. If you need somewhere to hide the back-up stock, ask us about the three-tier table instead, which has a closed front for exactly that reason.

Tell us the spread, not the size

The useful thing to send is what is going on it rather than a measurement: a two-tier cake plus a hundred cupcakes is a different job from a cake and a few plates, and the honest answer may be this run, the round arrangement, or both. We deliver it, set it up in place, and collect it afterwards, and delivery is quoted with the piece rather than added on at the end.

Questions people ask about this

Do you deliver and set this up, or do I collect it?
We deliver it, set it up before your guests arrive, and come back to collect it afterwards. Nothing in the rental collection is a self-collect item, because most of these pieces need two people and a van, and a statement chair or a dessert table arriving damaged in the back of a car is nobody's idea of a saving. Delivery is quoted with the piece rather than added afterwards.
How far in advance should I book it?
Popular weekends go earliest, and single pieces like statement seating and cake tables exist once, not in multiples, so a date is either free or it is not. A week or two is comfortable for most dates and peak Saturdays fill well before that. Ask anyway if your date is soon: we will tell you honestly what is still available rather than holding you while we check.
Which areas around Ottawa do you deliver to?
Ottawa, Kanata, Barrhaven, Orleans, Gloucester, Nepean and Gatineau, from the studio at 99 Ralph Erfle Wy in Nepean. Addresses further out are usually still possible and are quoted on the drive rather than refused. Tell us the venue with your date and we will confirm before you book.
